Derek Yaworsky is the Head Trader of GLAM, sharing portfolio management responsibilities for the firm’s structured credit product portfolios. Prior to forming GLAM in September 2019, Derek was a senior member in the structured credit group at Barings formally Babson Capital Management, part of the MassMutual Financial Group.
As a senior member of the structured group since 2003, Derek managed daily deal flow in both the Primary and Secondary CLO markets covering all trading strategies and execution for the firms multiple billion-dollar portfolio of structured credit assets. Derek began his trading career at MassMutual as part of the companies High Yield Investment group in 1999 where he traded cash high yield and distressed bonds.
In 1997, Derek started his 23-year career at MassMutual in their Security Investment Division as an analyst in the firm’s valuation and information management group. Prior to his investment career, Derek was the Controller for a community bank in Glastonbury Connecticut, where he managed a staff of accountants reporting to the bank’s CFO. Derek received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut.
