Matthew Natcharian, CFA is the Head Portfolio Manager of Greensledge Asset Management LLC (“GLAM”) since September 2019. He is a member of the investment committee and the head portfolio manager responsible for the investment underwriting and approval process. Prior to Greensledge, he was the Head of Barings’ Structured Credit Investment Team (since 2006) that was responsible for a US$17 billion of investments in CLO tranches across the risk spectrum from AAA-rated notes to equity tranches.
Additionally, Matthew was a member of Barings’ Global High Yield Allocation Committee and the Global Investment Grade Allocation Committee. He has worked in the industry since 1995, when he joined MassMutual’s Investment Division. His responsibilities grew as the firm expanded as David L. Babson & Co., Babson Capital Management and ultimately Barings LLC. Matt was the first analyst dedicated to securitized credit investing in 1998 and became head of the Structured Credit Team in 2006. His experience has encompassed CLOs, securitized corporate credit (CBO’s/CDO’s), synthetic credit products and multi-strategy portfolio management. Additionally, he served as a Director of Invicta Capital, LLC, a credit derivative product company, from 2008 through 2014, and was responsible for the credit underwriting and monitoring of the credit portfolio.
Prior to joining MassMutual in 1995, he worked at both Allmerica Financial (Hanover Insurance) and New England Mutual Life. Matthew holds a B.S. in Finance from Bentley University and is a member of the CFA Institute.
